London based editor Chris Mckay grew up with a French mother, a British father and a passion for film. Studying Photography and Print at London College of Printing and Central St Martins,

 

Chris joined London’s leading editing house Cut+Run in 2002 where he has been one of their main editors for the past 16 years.

At Cut+Run, Chris learned his craft working alongside many award-winning editors and top commercial directors and In 2009 was honoured at the First Boards Awards in New York with a Silver for Best Young Editor of the Year. Since then he has worked on many successful advertising campaigns.

More recently, Chris has began applying his talents to longer formats, collaborating with Samuel Abrahams on the BAFTA nominated short film ‘Connect’ and ‘Offline Dating’ that went viral and received Worldwide acclaim with screenings at the BFI Film Festival and earned him a nomination for Best Editing at the Kinsale Awards.

 

In 2016, Chris cut the ‘The Dog and the Elephant’, a short film directed by Mike Sharpe which went on to win Best Short Film at the Leeds Short Film Awards 2017.

Described by many of his peers as an intelligent editor with immaculate timing and a considered attention to detail, Chris brings a richness in all of his work through his unique vision and an in-depth understanding of the power of story-telling.
